Stephen Doyle Jr is a recovering engineer who is dedicated to elevating the growth of leaders and executives. As a business and leadership development coach/consultant, Steve works with organizations, globally, to develop plans in key areas to achieve success, assisting companies in strengthening their product portfolio while improving quality and productivity. Steve’s 25+ years of experience leading product, process and employee development programs, productivity enhancements, and strategic business planning guides him to successfully manage and coach teams both professionally and during his personal time.


In the Corporate World

Steve worked for over 19 years in engineering, supplier technical assistance and quality, covering varying aspects of castings, forgings and heat treatments. In 1997, Steve began his career in metallurgy as a co-op at Meritor. Steve held various positions within the metallurgy department that led to increasing responsibilities until 2011, when Steve was promoted to Global Director of Materials Engineering. In 2014, Steve's role was expanded to also lead the Global Product Validation and Applied Mechanics team. Throughout Steve’s career he has earned various ‘Innovation and Achievement’ Awards, Quality Awards and has several patents.


Throughout Steve’s career he discovered his enjoyment for developing others. He created and implemented a formalized mentoring program for Engineering / Quality / Product Strategy groups. Steve also designed specific course content and lead year-long mentoring circle discussions for the Women’s Business Resource Group. The mentoring topics included:

  • Emotional Intelligence and the Leadership Challenge

Through Steve’s work and dedication to developing others, Steve was invited in 2015 to be a speaker and panelist at the Women of Color (WOC) Conference in Detroit, Michigan. The topics included:

In the Community


Steve currently serves on church council for Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Clarkston, Mi


Steve previously served on the Board of Directors for the Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce.  He also worked with the University of Michigan – College of Engineering admissions office to conduct Hometown Alumni Information Link (HAIL) reviews with potential incoming freshman to the college. Steve has been guest speaker with the Michigan Materials Society within the College of Engineering.


Steve’s volunteer work in the community focuses on STEM education though FIRST Robotics. Steve was a Head Coach and Mentor for FIRST LEGO League in the Clarkston School District.


Steve also served on the Board of Directors for the Detroit-Windsor chapter of the American Foundry Society (AFS) from July 2011 to July 2014. Through working with AFS, Steve was invited to speak at various AFS conferences in 2012:
